Surgery update

Well the procedure went well although it didn't go as expected. my doctor went in fully convinced that he would find endometriosis and there wasn't any. Apparently what is causing the pain I have been having is essentially a vericos vein inside. It is what brings blood back from the reproductive organs. The valves weaken and blood pools causing swelling. Matt said the pictures looked like a big bruise.

I go in tomorrow to talk with the doctor about treatment options and to have the stiches removed. My incisions are very small but there is a lot of bruising around the one in my belly button. My stomch is still very swollen and I look about 6 months pregnant.

On a funny side. My mom had to bring Logan with her to the center when she came in to hear from the doctor. To keep him occupied Matt took him to the little drug store downstairs to get him a snack. They picked out M&Ms and water. Logan carries them to the counter, clears his throat and says " I would like to buy these M's and this water"

All my boys have been very good about taking car of me. Skyler seems to be a little nervous around me and I think he thought the stiches were a little gross. Logan has beeen helping to take care of me by clearing my food trays and bringing me drinks. Today he looks at my bandaids and said "you have owie. You hurt? You need doctor."

Matt has been ammazingly good to me through all of this. Waiting on me, bringing me a fresh cut rose with dinner and making sure that I am taking it easy. He's also been very supportive with all the emotional stuff this brings up.

I feel so lucky to have such wonderful boys taking care of me.

Just an update

Well Thursday I had the ultrasound done and it didn't seem to show anything significant. However, because of the ongoing pain the doctor has me scheduled to go in for Laparoscopic surgery on Tuesday. Hopefully it will provide answers and a solution. It is a fairly simple out patient procedure so I will be home the same night. I'll make sure to update when I know something more.

On a funnier note. Yesterday was a cold and miserable day in southern California, so I decided to light a fire in the fireplace. I left the room for a moment and when I came back in Logan had this play fire extinguisher. He had filled it with water and poured it over the fire. He thought he was a firefighter!

WARNING CONTAINS WOMEN"S ISSUES

If any of that bothers you, skip this post.

So just to catch people up, starting last Monday I began to have some very intense pain just inside of my hip. The more I'm up the worse it hurts. It's been a general constant pain with intense sharp pain that comes and goes. I have had a history of severe cramps and they started me on BC pills to try and correct the issues...nearly two years later it has gotten worse not better.

Friday I went into the doctor. The worry I had was my ovary since I had had issues with it in high school. It turns out that what ever is happening is with my uterus not my ovary. I have severe pain in the upper left backside. He did rule out any ectopic pregnancy. I'm am going in for an ultrasound on Thursday to see if they can find anything that way. He also placed me on an antibiotic to make sure that there is not an infection(which would be very rare).

Today I am still in a lot of pain so I'm just waiting for my apppt. on Thursday.

What he is concerned about is endometriosis, however they can not determine that from the ultrasound. If I am still having the pain and they find nothing then I may have to go in for a laporoscpy.

I'm trying not to worry about what might be and just wait for some actual facts but its hard not to worry especially in these days of information from the Internet and all the possibilities.
Well thursday Logan got his first black eye from his brother. I say first because Im sure there will be more over the years...for both of them.

The two boys were sword fighting with these poles of wood....I told them that if they were going to kill each other to at least go outside. Blood is a pain to get out of carpeting ;)

So out they go after a few minutes Skyler comes rushing in
"Logans hurt!"

Logan is crying and Im trying to get him to calm down long enough to tell what happened and where he is hurt.

"Skyler what happened?"

"Well he threw an apricot at me, so I threw it back, then he threw it back, so I threw it at him and it hit him" (Our apricot tree is full of unripe apricots and at this point they are hard as rocks)

Finally, he says "owie eye. I need band-aid"

I told him I coulnt put a band-aid on his eye "you want ice pack paper towel?

"yeah" in the most pathetic little sniffle

Sky rushed and got him the ice pack.

Fortunately Logans a tough kid and a few minutes later he was up and running again.

This is a picture from my phone since little Logan removed the batteries from my camera and I have yet to locate them.

Logan's Eggs

Yesterday evening I was talking to my mom on the phone and matt was out front.

Matt comes in from the front yard and Logan walks up to him with his hands behind his back....

"Logan what do you have? Show me your hands"
Logan sticks out his hands...nothing in them.....

but he has an egg in his back pocket!

So Matt asks him "what are you doing with an egg?"

"Im cooking"he said with exasperation. Like gee Dad dont you know.

He had cracked two eggs into a frying pan thrown the shells in the sink....good thing he hasnt figured out how to light the stove!!!!!
